We have compiled a helpful checklist to ensure your phone settings provide the most accurate location information in your Life360 app.
Note: If you are having trouble locating someone in your Circle, the problem is likely with their phone connection and signal. Have them check the conditions and settings below.
Check the basics
- Log into the Life360 app on one device at a time.
- The phone is on, and the Life360 app is open.
- The Life360 app is updated to the latest version.
- There is a good connection to cellular data.
- There are some carriers whose cell data may not be reliable while you are on a phone call.
- Do not use mobile hotspots or vehicles with built-in Wi-Fi hotspots.
- Open the app to refresh after the phone battery has died.
- Avoid the use of parental control or security apps.
- Open Life360 every two days to prevent the app from entering ‘sleep mode’.
- Do not use a VPN with Life360, as it will interfere with accuracy.
Check the phone settings
- Location needs to be On and set to Always.
- Wifi needs to be On.
- ‘Airplane Mode’ needs to be Off.
- Low Power Mode needs to be Off.
- Data Mode is set to Allow More Data.
- 'Physical Activity' permissions need to be On and Allowed.
- Low Power Mode needs to be Off.
