Data breaches can often lead to identity theft, which can take hundreds of hours to resolve and restore. Data Breach Alerts in the Life360 app help ensure it doesn't happen to your family by notifying you if your stolen information is found on the dark web, where hackers buy and sell stolen data. We will provide steps to help you act fast to avoid identity theft and secure your family's exposed information.
Turn on Data Breach Alerts:
- Tap on the Safety tab at the bottom of the app.
- Tap on Data Breach Alerts.
- Follow the steps on the screen to turn on Data Breach Alerts.
Turn off Data Breach Alerts:
You can opt out of Data Breach Alerts at any time.
- Tap on the Settings icon in the upper left corner.
- Tap on Privacy & Security.
- Tap on Digital Safety.
- Scroll down to and tap on Digital Safety.
- Tap on the toggle to turn Data Breach Alerts off.
Note: By turning off Data Breach Alerts, we will no longer notify you if your email address or passwords are exposed on the dark web.
If you receive a Data Breach Alert, you can secure your family's passwords and change them immediately. If you use the same password for other accounts, we also recommend changing those passwords. Stay alert for suspicious activity on the compromised emails and accounts.
Does everyone in my membership circle have Data Breach Alerts?
We will monitor the email associated with all members of the membership Circle unless the member has opted out of Data Breach Alerts. Please update all Circle members' email addresses in your Life360 app settings under Account.
