The Life360 Bubbles feature allows you to customize Location Sharing for your Circle. When you create a Bubble, it temporarily shares your approximate location while all safety and messaging features remain on. If a car crash or emergency is detected, Bubbles will automatically burst.
While in a Bubble, you can use the Check-In button to update your Circle with your current location. If you are concerned about safety, you can burst a Bubble at any time.
Note: A member’s Driver Report or Location History won't include details during Bubble time unless they move outside the Bubble.
Create a Bubble
- Tap on your avatar.
- Tap on Create a Bubble in your map view.
- Use the slider to adjust the size of your Bubble (up to 25 miles) and tap on Continue.
- Choose the duration of your Bubble (up to 6 hours) and tap on Continue.
- Note: Your Circle members will only see that you’re in a Bubble. Your exact location and driving information will not be shared while you’re in the Bubble. Tap on Done.
Pop a Bubble
A Bubble creator can pop their Bubble to end it early at any point by moving outside of the Bubble range or following these steps in the app:
- Tap on your avatar in the Life360 app.
- Tap on the Active Bubble button.
- Tap on Pop Bubble.
- Tap on Pop.
- Your Circle will receive a notification that your bubble has burst and you are now sharing your location again.
Burst a Bubble
If a car crash or emergency is detected, Bubbles will automatically burst. Any Circle member can burst a Bubble anytime if they are concerned about a member’s safety. This will reveal the Bubble creator's location and notify the entire Circle. To burst a Bubble:
- Tap on the active Bubble or the creator's avatar.
- Tap on Active Bubble.
- Scroll down and tap on Burst Bubble.
- Tap on Burst.
Turn off Bubbles
An Admin can turn Bubble access on or off for their Circle members. To turn off the feature:
- Tap on Settings in your Life360 app.
- Tap on Circle Management.
- Tap on Set Bubbles Access.
- Toggle Bubbles access On or Off.
