Note: Please keep your phone number and email address up to date and verified to prevent any sign-in issues. If your phone number or email changes, update it in your account immediately.
If you’re having trouble signing in to Life360, follow the steps below depending on your issue:
Verification Code Not Received
Phone Number or Email Already In Use
Verification Code Not Received
If you are not receiving the verification code, make sure you have entered the correct email address and check your spam folder.
Verification codes can only be sent to an email address that has been verified. If your email hasn’t been verified, try signing in with your phone number instead, or reset your password and verify your email after signing in.
Note: if you no longer have access to the email you used to sign up, you can claim your phone number and create a new account.
Phone Number
The phone number you enter must be able to receive verification codes via SMS. Landline phones and some virtual text service providers, as well as phone numbers in certain unsupported countries, may not be able to receive SMS messages.
Note: SMS is supported only in the US, CA, the UK, NZ, and KR. Members outside of these countries can use WhatsApp, where available. Messaging rates may apply.
If you are not receiving the SMS verification code, ensure that you have entered the correct phone number and country code.
New Phone Number
If you can’t receive the code because you have a new phone number, follow these steps:
- Reset your password.
- Open the Life360 app.
- Tap on Sign In with Email.
- Tap on Continue.
- Enter the new password.
- Tap on Edit phone number.
- Enter your new phone number and tap on Send Code.
- Enter the code.
- Once logged in, verify your email
Account Locked
When you enter your email or phone number in the Life360 app, you will receive a verification code via SMS or email. If too many verification codes are requested or entered incorrectly, your ability to verify your phone number or email will be disabled for 24 hours. After 24 hours, you can request a new code and attempt to log in again.

Verification Code Invalid
A verification code is invalid if:
- The code has expired. Verification codes are valid for 10 minutes.
- A code has been requested multiple times within a 10-minute period.
- The app is force-closed while on the code entry screen. The code becomes invalid, and you will need to request a new code.
Phone Number or Email Address Already In Use
If the email you entered is already in use, try again with a different email. Once you have signed in with the new email, you can rejoin any Circles you were previously in.
Phone Number
If you have entered your phone number correctly and the app states that it is already in use, you can claim your phone number and try again.
Forgot Password
To reset your password, use the Life360 Reset Password tool. You can also request a password reset link.
If you signed up using the Continue with Google option, your account does not have a password. Sign in by tapping Continue with Google on the Get Started screen, or enter the email address linked to your Google account to receive a verification code.
