Life360’s Crash Detection technology has analyzed thousands of collisions, enabling us to create an algorithm that detects movement consistent with car crashes. At times, we might detect unusual movement that resembles car crash movement when engaging in activities such as skydiving or riding on a roller coaster, and occasionally, it can happen if you drop your phone.
To err on the side of caution, we’ll always choose to report events, even if they show borderline signs of being an actual crash.
To prevent false alerts for your Circle and emergency contacts, you may be prompted to tell us if a false alarm has happened immediately after an event has been detected. Since our algorithm is always learning, the best way to help improve is by letting us know what happened.
