Drive Detection analyzes phone location and activity to determine when each member is driving. It detects potentially unsafe behaviors during a drive, such as phone usage, high speed, hard braking, and rapid acceleration. Driving information and events are then shared with the entire Circle.
Drive Detection has been renamed and moved. Follow the steps below to turn on Drive Detection:
- Tap on Settings in the upper-left corner of the app.
- Tap on Privacy Center.
- Scroll down to Trusted Partners and tap on Arity.
- Tap on the Connect to Arity toggle.
Note: Drive Detection, including Crash Alerts, Driving reports, and Drive history, is powered by Arity. These features will be disabled if data sharing with Arity is turned off.
For Life360 to detect a Drive:
- You must enable Drive Detection on your account.
- You must travel a minimum distance of 1/2 mile from your starting location and reach a speed over 15 mph.
- Your phone must have more than 10% battery. Drive Detection increases battery usage, so it is automatically disabled when the battery is 10% or less.
- The Life360 app must be allowed to run in the background.
- The battery-saving feature on your phone must be disabled.
- Your phone must have a strong cell signal.
Note: The Life360 app will label the event as a Trip instead of a Drive if any of the above conditions are not met.
Delete Driving History or Events
Currently, there is no way to delete your history or driving events.
Note: Driving history, behavior, or records from within the app cannot be printed or exported. We recommend taking screenshots of any data you wish to save outside the app.
