Places are areas you can define on the map to be notified when a Circle member enters or leaves an area. A Place size can be set from 250 feet up to 2 miles.
Note: Two or more Places must not overlap each other. If two or more Places touch, overlap, or are extremely close, you will receive inaccurate Place notifications.
Add a Place
- Tap on the Places icon below the map.
- Select a preset Place or tap on Add a new Place.
- Enter the Place name.
- Choose from the nearby locations options, or tap on Locate on Map to move the location pin around to a more accurate location.
- Choose a Place Name.
- Tap on Got it.
- Tap on the bell icon to the right of a Place to turn notifications On or Off.
Edit or Delete a Place
You can only edit a Place if you are the creator.
- Tap on the Places icon below the map.
- Select the Place you want to edit or delete.
- To edit a Place details, adjust the Place location and/or radius. Tap on Save in the upper right corner.
- To edit Place notifications for each Circle member or Pet, tap on the Arrives or Leaves toggle to the right of each member or pet (with a Pet GPS).
- To delete a Place, scroll down to and tap on Delete Place.
Pet GPS
If you have a Pet GPS, a Place can be set from 100 feet up to 2 miles. When the Pet GPS is within a Place, it goes into Power Saving Mode to conserve battery and does not provide live tracking. While in Power Saving Mode, the device will update its location once every 24 hours to conserve battery. The Pet GPS will update its location as soon as it leaves a Place.
You can add a Wi-Fi network to a Place to improve power savings.
Add, View, or Change a WiFi network
- Tap on the Places icon at the bottom of the map.
- Select the Place you want to update.
- Scroll down to and tap on Add WiFi.
- To change your current WiFi network, tap on Remove WiFi first.
- Choose your WiFi network from the list.
- Enter the password.
- Tap on Connect.
If you cannot view or connect to your WiFi network, check if it is compatible.
